Digital Realty Facility Codes Explained
Digital Realty names facilities with the nearest airport code and a number: ORD for Chicago, DFW for Dallas, JFK and EWR for the New York area, LAX for Los Angeles, PHX for Phoenix, ATL for Atlanta, IAD for Northern Virginia. ORD10, for example, is 350 East Cermak in Chicago, and JFK10 is the space inside 111 8th Avenue. Facilities in the same market can differ widely in age, power density, available space and certifications, so the code matters as much as the city.
Looking at a specific Digital Realty facility? Send us the facility code or building. We confirm its availability, density and certifications with Digital Realty, price it, and show you the other operators nearby, at no cost to you. Send the requirement and you'll hear back within 24 hours.
Digital Realty New York: The NYC Trifecta
Digital Realty calls its three downtown New York buildings the NYC Trifecta. 60 Hudson Street, 111 8th Avenue and 32 Avenue of the Americas are among the most network-dense buildings in the city, where carriers, exchanges and financial networks meet. Digital Realty's colocation in them came largely from its 2015 acquisition of Telx. Our Manhattan data centers guide covers each building in full, including the other operators inside.
Digital Realty Chicago: 350 East Cermak (ORD10), ORD11 and Franklin Park
ORD10 is 350 East Cermak, Chicago's carrier hotel and one of the largest network buildings in the country, which Digital Realty owns. ORD11 is about a mile and a half away downtown, in the building at 600 South Federal Street. Out by O'Hare, the Digital Realty Franklin Park campus on Grand Avenue covers 21 acres, with an expansion under way. In all, Digital Realty Chicago runs nine data centers and 2.9 million square feet. See Chicago colocation.

Digital Realty Colocation Pricing
Digital Realty does not publish list prices. Rates depend on the market, the building, power density, term and how much you commit, and the same requirement can price very differently between two Digital Realty facilities in one metro. For reference, published market benchmarks put wholesale asking rates at about $190 to $235 per kW per month in Northern Virginia and $200 to $230 in Chicago (CBRE, 2026), and $125 to $145 in Los Angeles for 1 to 5 MW (JLL, 2025). Small retail footprints and carrier-hotel space price above those ranges, and cross-connects add to the total.
Send the market, power, cabinet or megawatt count and date. You'll hear back within 24 hours with the Digital Realty facilities that fit and where the rate can move. If you have already spoken to Digital Realty, tell us; we can still run the rest of the market.
Digital Realty Tier Certification and Compliance
Certifications vary by facility, not just by company. Across its portfolio, Digital Realty lists attestations and certifications including SOC 1, SOC 2 and SOC 3, ISO 27001, PCI DSS and NIST SP 800-53, and some facilities carry Uptime Institute Tier III certification. Whether a specific facility, such as ORD10 or DFW11, holds a particular certification is a facility-level question. Ask for the certificate or report for the exact building and date, or let us confirm it when we price your requirement.

Digital Realty for AI and High-Density Deployments
Digital Realty has been adding high-density halls across its portfolio for AI training and inference, with liquid cooling at selected facilities and private connections to the major clouds through ServiceFabric. For an AI deployment, the questions are the same as anywhere: which building can deliver your rack density, whether liquid cooling reaches the rack, and on what date. Those answers differ between Digital Realty facilities in the same metro.
Owning your GPU servers
Air-cooled GPU servers at 35 to 70 kW per rack fit more halls; rack-scale liquid-cooled systems need a facility built for them. See AI and GPU colocation.
Multi-megawatt requirements
Large deployments usually mean a Powered Base Building, a build-to-suit or a prelease. See wholesale colocation.
Renting GPUs instead
GPU rental is not tied to a location, so the right provider may be anywhere. See GPU rental.
Send the GPU model or megawatts, power per rack, market and date. You’ll hear back within 24 hours. The provider you choose pays us, so it costs you nothing.

Comparing Digital Realty With Other Operators
Digital Realty is strongest where scale and building ownership matter: large campuses in Northern Virginia, Dallas, Chicago and Silicon Valley, and the carrier buildings it owns in several cities. Whether it is the right choice depends on the market, the building, the density and the price on your date, which is why the useful comparison is the same requirement priced in each building that fits. For the most common comparison, see Equinix vs Digital Realty; for every major operator, see the provider comparison.
Send the requirement once. We find the Digital Realty building that fits and show you the other operators that fit, side by side, so the comparison is on price and fit rather than sales pitches. The operator you choose pays us, and you'll hear back within 24 hours.
